East Village Spots I Will Miss

As our chapter living in the East Village comes to a close, I wanted to share some of my favorite spots.

East Village Organic

The to-go meals here are healthy and affordable. There is a strong Middle Eastern and Mediterranean influence on the products. Their hummus is fresh and their green juice with bee pollen is my favorite ever.

Sunny and Annie's

We were very fortunate to live exactly one block from this famous deli. If you want to know why it is famous, go in and look at the written menu for yourself. I had a goal to get every sandwich from here and although I did not accomplish that, I did put a solid dent in it. Their grocery items are overpriced through so just stick to the handmade deli part.

Juice Vitality

I have always been in love with smoothies and this is the best smoothie place in the world. It might be what I'll miss the most on this list. What is most impressive is how fast they make these smoothies. You order and seconds - two minutes later, you have your smoothie. Their menu isn't overwhelming like some places are and the smoothies always have the perfect creamy and smooth consistency.

Mama Fina's

They have my favorite chicken take out dish, the sisig. I haven't had any other food from here but I'm sure it is all good. They also send me emails with discounts which we love of course. The chickien sisig can be 2-3 meals for me so a great value.

Little Kirin

BEST MUSHROOM BURGER ON THE PLANET. That's all I'm going to say. You have to go here.

The Wayland

My favorite cocktail, the "Garden Variety Margarita". Blanco tequila, fresh ginger, kale juice, lime, agave, smoked chili salt.

Luster

Where I get my film developed. It isn't the cheapest but you get your scans back in 24 hours.

Gruppo

Recipe for a great Sunday evening = personal size pizza with spicy red sauce and their chocolate chip cookie. Devour it all while watching your favorite show.

Borrachito

Located right by the L train so we loved stopping here on our way home from going out in Brooklyn. Their vegan burrito is delicious.

7th St Burger

I think most people who live in downtown Manhattan know 7th St Burger. They have a couple locations throughout the city, deserve the praise they get, and are worth the wait.

Somtum Der

A very popular spot in the neighborhood. The Thai food here is amazing.

Cafe Social 68

Also felt lucky to live so near to this cafe. They have a good cappuccino and matcha latte. Their pastries are lovely and they do Too Good to Go which we adore.

I may add to this list. There are other places I am going to miss living by but maybe only went to them once so I felt it wasn't fair to have them on a list like this.
